Kaleidovision collaborates with Oasis on flagship store digital makeover

Digital media agency, Kaleidovision has worked with fashion retailer Oasis to produce innovative digital storytelling installations and bring tech into the heart of the shopping experience at the brand’s central London Argyll Street store.

Bringing to life the in store environment via integrated digital design was at the heart of the vision for the store’s makeover.

Kaleidovision’s head of music & digital initiatives, Aisha Nanor explains: “The brief was to enhance the brand’s unique personality within the store in terms of soundscapes and digital enhancement. The new digital areas effortlessly capture the fun essence of Oasis. Designed around the brand’s desire to surprise and delight customers, they feature inspiring soundscapes and specially commissioned digital installations that intrinsically form part of the store’s interior.”

Tula Anastasiades, director of creative at Oasis, comments: “In line with our innovative ‘House of Oasis’ store refit programme, we wanted to further enhance our customer experience through digital technology by building on the tradition of retail theatre and making our customers smile!”

Innovative animations appear throughout the store. Behind the main cash desk customers can look out through windows onto changing seasons in a beautiful digital garden. The animation runs on two 70” screens concealed behind period-style sash window frames.

By the fitting rooms, customers will glimpse the silhouette of a cat walking across another digital window, gazing up to the birds flying in the sky of its virtual world.

A wall full of portraits stretches from floor to ceiling accompanying the journey of the escalator. A selection of the original illustrations, created by agency ilovedust, has been brought to life digitally by Kaleidovision’s motion graphics experts, including animated talking characters such as the dashing fox that interacts with customers and butterflies which suddenly come to life, gracefully flying from one painting to another.

The digital technology solution is delivered by multi-video output media players, playing full High Def content — show controlled to ensure sound effects and voice-overs seamlessly output to a combination of 70”, 50” and 32” screens.
