New competition celebrates stories of pride from UK store staff
Do you know someone who works in retail and deserves recognition for their tireless effort during Covid? Do you work for a store and want to shout about how proud you are of your team?
Organisers of a new campaign and competition are today (20th May) calling on store staff who kept the nation’s retail sector running throughout the pandemic to share and celebrate their achievements.
Proud of My Store provides a hub for retail’s frontline staff to tell their stories, of the hard work, ingenuity and dedication that got shops through the toughest year in living memory.
Founded by Customer Interaction Management specialists, Critizr, the new initiative will shine a spotlight on the people and teams who went the extra mile for their company, customers and communities during the pandemic.
#ProudOfMyStore wants to hear ‘store stories’: from the big initiatives to the smallest act of kindness that made all the difference to vulnerable shoppers.
What’s involved? It couldn’t be easier. Anyone working in retail – supermarkets, convenience stores, independent boutiques, pharmacies, bars, restaurants, gyms, salons – can log on to write a few sentences about why they are proud of their team at www.proudofmystore.com
There’s a monthly prize on offer, plus one entry will be crowned ‘Proudest Store 2021’ winning a luxury hamper for the whole team and £300 for the stores’ favourite charity.
As Hazel Morton, UK Head of Marketing at Critizr explains: ‘What retail stores and frontline staff have achieved over the past 12 months is incredible – and at Critizr, we believe this should be celebrated. As we emerge from lockdown, #ProudOfMyStore will share some of these inspiring acts of team work, compassion and community spirit from store staff around the UK, which meant so much to customers during lockdown.
‘A great example is The Cakery in Leamington Spa. They tell of the brutal impact of Covid on their small retail business, and just how proud they are of their team’s response. They kept the business going with a shift to online and responded to changing regulations with a ‘cake hatch’ and drive-by ‘contactless cakes’. They rebranded during downtime and looked after their community with deliveries for NHS and other frontline workers’.
‘It’s stories like this that have generated a real sense of pride amongst everyone in the retail sector for the way staff met the challenge of Covid, and so many amazing stories that have yet to be told. As we move on to brighter days ahead for our high streets, please join us in celebrating just how brilliantly the UK’s store teams delivered during the pandemic. It’s something that we should all be proud of.’
