An open & shut case: Case opens new store at Heathrow Airport

The premium travel goods & luggage retailer, Case officially opens its first standalone store in the new Terminal 2: The Queen’s Terminal at Heathrow Airport, London.

Situated immediately after security airside at Terminal 2: The Queen’s Terminal, the Case store opens with a tantalising selection of premium brands for luggage, leather goods and travel accessories. On display are a host of world famous brands including Tumi, Rimowa, Ted Baker, Samsonite, Victorinox, Globe-Trotter, Bric’s, Paul Smith and Lulu Guinness.

Case won the bid for the coveted outlet in Terminal 2 by creating a highly appealing retail offer to engage with customers, via the very latest digital and visual technology. It is the company’s third airport travel retail site following standalone stores already successfully operating in both terminals at Gatwick.

Case’s T2 store design is a true evolution in travel luggage retailing.  The central feature is a 3.5m-high light bulb display set against a backdrop of angled perimeter floor-to-ceiling monitor stacks, broadcasting bespoke and abstract media to entice the customer inside and reveal the products.

This revolutionary new store concept was designed by Raylian Store Design, and developed around the variety and flexibility of multi-channel retailing.

Nick Short, creative director at Raylian explained: “The design is a total evolution in the way luggage and travel retail is experienced within a technologically advanced visual environment, that engages on multiple levels.  This is a futuristic, multi-layered, visionary airside luggage store, packed with contrasting elements to stimulate and delight the travelling consumer”.

Stephen Spitz, CEO and chairman of Case added: “Once again, we have created an evolutionary luggage store, offering a hand-picked selection of premium luggage and travel accessories from the world’s most aspirational brands.

“It is a truly iconic store that provides everything a business or leisure passenger could possibly need or desire to enhance their journey”
