Christmas 2014 set to have four delivery peaks

Blujay has reported that we will see four delivery peaks in the run-up to Christmas for 2014, with the biggest peaks occurring on the 1st of December.

Results show the four larges Christmas delivery peaks will fall on Mondays, with the 1st December being the highest. The fact that Christmas falls on a Thursday this year means that there will be time to order goods on the Monday and Tuesday immediately before.

Christmas 2014 is forecasted to be the busiest so far in terms of delivery volume, with online orders and delivery expected to reach 120 million orders in December alone.

There are going to be enormous peaks of online delivery demand that businesses throughout the industry will have to scale every week in the run-up to Christmas. Increasing collaboration between retailers and carriers will mean an improved consumer experience as more choice is given and more demands are met. New innovative options like Sunday service and click and collect will also play an integral role this Christmas.

However, those businesses who are not prepared with mobility enabled solutions to ensure first time, one time, every time delivery are sure to fall by the wayside this festive season.

Blujay operates across APAC, EMEA and the USA, supporting over 145,000 drivers delivering in excess of 6 million deliveries per day.
